“We said, get on your knees!” one of the dark figures yelled at her.
Based on the person’s build and deep voice, Gwyneth concluded that it was a man speaking, yet she was unsure of what to do. Strange sounds emanated from the machine, and she found herself standing closer to it than the others were. She felt a peculiar pulling sensation, as if she were a magnet drawn to the metal.
“Get on your knees!” the man shouted again over the buzzing noise, approaching Gwyneth.
She turned and fired her gun, but her action prompted the others to react. One of them fired back, hitting Gwyneth in the arm. She dropped the gun, stumbled backward, and saw people attempting to reach for her.
Gwyneth did not know what happened next. It felt as if her feet were lifting off the ground as she clutched her wounded arm. The air filled with an electric charge, and the buzzing sound grew louder, causing her ears to ring. She screamed as the powerful energy pulled her back, taking her away from everything she knew.
This is an entertaining paranormal romance book that grabs your attention from the beginning and holds it to the end. The storyline is intriguing as the elements unfold. The characters are well written with depth to their personalities and steamy chemistry together. I enjoyed this book.

As a protector Gwyn always put the mission first. This is an interesting story with futuristic and medieval elements. It is a dystopian and time travel paranormal read that was very captivating. I love the world building and dynamics of this story. The characters are strong and likable as well. The story is about Kiran and Gwyn. One is the alpha wolf shifter king and the other on a mission to save Earth, both brought together by fate.
This is honestly like no other shifter book I have ever read. It was absolutely amazing. It had shifters and sci-fi and time travel and the end of the world all mixed in one book. I absolutely love the banter between Gwyn and Kiran. But when he told her that he loved her I was trying so hard that I was having trouble catching my breath.
Earth is dying from pollution and the greed of many thru the years and it is the year 2356. Research has been done and key points in history were pointed out and teams were chosen to go to those times to fix things, to change our current present and save our world. However, those of the greedy strike again as Gwyneth, the Lead Protector, and the one Chosen to go thru to the past at the Roman Empire. However, sabotage strikes and she ends up- elsewhere. Gwyn quickly realizes that she isn’t where she is supposed to be as no one else is around, until a man attacks her. She is saved and the world is very much like a fantasy novel that Gwyn has been thrown into. As a Protector she is upset that she is not there to protect the people she is supposed to. However, the man who saves her, ends up being the King of the good werewolves, as we would call them. Kiran is smart, sexy and totally hot and he believes that Gwyn is his fated mate. She is soooo not into that. Their interactions are both hilarious and cute with a little snark thrown in on her part. Kiran and his band of most trusted, don’t believe her story as it is too fantastical, although Kiran’s inner wolf disagrees and his commentary is hilarious and I love him. Crazy stuff happens. Fight scenes are great and Gwyn’s explanations about our world are so true and heartbreaking. All of the revelations made me livid and I wanted to do some damage to the baddies myself. As the story progresses I find the interactions between Kiran and Gwyn to be hotter, and cuter and funnier. I hope that there are more stories set in this world. I truly loved it.
I thought this was a very enjoyable read about Gwyn, amd Kiran and their duty and loyalty to their people. The tension and dynamic between Gwyn and Kiran was clear and add a great emotional layer in this story. This story does not pan out how you think it would and it makes it a unique tale that has many levels which are interesting and fresh. This is a excellent 5 star read.
This is my second book by Anne T. Thyssen. I really enjoy her writing style. This book has a lot going on with it being a mix of sci-fi, found mates, shifters, time travel, and a few enemies. I really enjoyed this fantasy romance and especially the FMC. It’s a fun story with some spice.
