NY Nights, 3

Never fall in love…

Callum Pattison is an artist on the rise. But his career dreams are on hold when a stalker threatens his safety. Add to that the reappearance of Greyson Ineja, a man he shared one unforgettable night with, and another threat looms—this one aimed closer to Cal’s heart.

Never fall in love again…

Greyson Ineja is a widower whose life is all about work until he meets free-spirited Cal. Since that night, Grey sees light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Until he becomes the focus of Cal’s stalker, and his life is again thrown into turmoil.

Never say never.

A fake wedding is hatched to lure the stalker out of hiding. For Cal and Grey, one night together was incendiary… pretending to be married could be even more dangerous.

The stakes are higher the second time around, and love is the ultimate risk.

Be Warned: m/m sex

Excerpt:

“I like my eggs over easy,” he croaked.

Grey jumped, and the spatula he was holding clattered to the floor. Grey turned around and when those intense eyes locked on his, Cal caught his breath. An unnamed emotion churned in his blue depths. What secrets lay behind them? Cal was suddenly curious to unlock it all. Cal rarely painted portraits, but he itched to paint one of Grey and reveal the man beneath the professional mask.

“Why doesn’t that surprise me?” Grey glared and picked up the utensil, washing it and moving back to the stove.

“What? That I like my eggs easy? Hey! I’m not easy! I’m selective.”

“If by selective you mean you choose a partner one night and then select another the next night, and then another the next night, then yes, you are selective. You select a helluva lot.” Grey smirked.

“Hey, my place is a judgment-free zone.” Cal changed the subject. “Whatcha cooking? It smells unreal in here.”

“Nothing spectacular. An omelet with bacon, cheddar, and green onion. Hardly gourmet.”

“Anything that requires me to turn on the stove is gourmet. Grilled cheese is my limit when it comes to cooking.”

“You want coffee? I made a pot. Sorry, I can’t make all those fancy drinks like Luca or Ryker.”

Cal laughed. “No worries. I add lots of sugar and creamer, so it tastes the same. As long as it has a lot of caffeine, I’m good.”

Grey nodded and turned back to the stove.

“So, I don’t remember too much of last night.” Cal paused and finally pushed his ass off the couch and stretched. “I didn’t do or say anything embarrassing, did I?”

Grey turned back again and opened his mouth, but he said nothing. He stood there staring at Cal. Or rather, staring at somewhere near Cal’s waist. He followed Grey’s eyes and looked down and noticed his t-shirt had rucked up to display his abs and his unbuttoned jeans low on his hips. Cal took his time pulling the shirt down and buttoning his fly and watched as Grey’s cheeks flushed and he turned away again. Hmm. Grey still has a weak spot for my abs. Just like their night together when Grey ran his sinful tongue over them, tracing every ridge slowly while Cal moaned and begged, then continued down further to his…

“You tried to get me, Oliver, and Elijah to join you in a foursome, but other than that, you know, nothing out of the ordinary,” Grey said, interrupting Cal’s flashback. Grey moved the pan off the heat and slammed it loudly.

Cal winced. “Sorry about that. Pot makes me horny and flirty.”

Grey’s sudden burst of laughter surprised him. “How is that different from regular you?”

“Well … it … it…” Cal couldn’t find his words, and Grey continued to laugh. “Okay, it makes me hornier than usual and extra flirty. Satisfied now, Mr. Smart Ass?” Cal sauntered over to the kitchen toward the coffee machine. Besides the heavenly aroma of freshly cooked bacon, Cal smelled something deeper, earthier. Like sandalwood and vetiver, mmm. It was Grey. He wore Tom Ford cologne, and when blended with his body heat, it created a scent that was warm, edible, and very sexy. This morning got better and better.

“So, what’s your plan for today?” Grey asked as he cut the large omelet in half and slid it onto plates. Adding toast, he pushed one plate toward Cal.

“Thanks, Grey.” Cal enjoyed a mouthful of cheesy eggs. “Mmm. So good. Can you make this every day?” he joked.

Grey’s fork slipped from his hand and fell to the floor with a clang. After placing that one in the sink, he reached for the kitchen drawer and drew out another one, then sat opposite Cal and ate.

“Maybe not every day. You’d get sick of it. Routines are boring for you, aren’t they?” Grey mumbled over a mouthful of omelet.

Cal contemplated that question. “Partly true. As an artist, I’m always interested in new experiences. But I need some consistency in my life or else I’d burn out. A stable influence to keep me from flying off in too many directions. I’ve reached that point in my life. I felt that way before the stalker, and this situation has amplified it. Don’t get me wrong, I love parties and going out, but I need more from life than hanging out at clubs. Now I think I’m ready for more, maybe even…”

Love. He caught himself before he said the word. Couldn’t believe he thought it never mind was about to say it. To Grey, of all people. Jesus. What was in those chocolates? Cal took another big gulp of coffee before he opened his mouth again.

“You’re ready for…?” Grey asked, searchingly, as he stared at Cal.

“Something more meaningful in my life. I don’t know what that looks like or how to define it yet.” Cal hoped the answer would satisfy Grey and they could move on to another, less risky topic.

I absolutely loved this novel. Such a great story with defined characters and a great plot. What drew me in the most was how fleshed out the characters were The writing style was fluid and relateable. The cover was fascinating as well. Written by Marilyn B on 28th Oct 2023

Loved the slow burn SO MUCH. I adored Callum and Grey. The only thing I didn't love about this was the reason for the fake marriage.. didn't really make sense to me? But honestly, who cares when the couple are so adorable lol

Wonderful!
Written by Bookworm73 on 11th Oct 2022

I absolutely adore this book, what a way to finish a series!! This book picks up where Trouble Maker left off, with Cal dealing with his stalker. Cal and Grey spend one extremely hot night together but since Cal doesn't do relationships he snuck out. 10 months later Cal's stalker threatens Grey too. He heads off to be with Cal and inform him that he's not the only one who needs bodyguards. Even though they each haven't forgotten their night of passion they both resist temptation. Cal and Grey have such magnetic chemistry. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just say it ends on a great HEA. "When life was at its worst, the comfort of a simple touch from someone you cared about meant everything. It got you through and gave you strength." ❤ “It feels like my heart is beating for the first time ever.”

The sizzle is palatable!
Written by mvm7 on 3rd Aug 2022

The attraction between Cal and Grey was instantaneous. From the moment they met and hooked up there has been an attraction that neither understands. Cal has never had a relationship that lasted more than a day. Grey is still drowning in his grief from the loss of his wife. The undercurrent of their mutual attraction remains unacknowledged after their brief hook up which neither has forgotten. Enter a stalker that has sights on Cal and then on Grey. A potential solution to draw out the stalker is proposed by their security team – a fake marriage between Cal and Grey. With forced proximity and their upcoming “marriage”, the chemistry between the two continues to sizzle just short of total combustion as the attraction and grows. As they grow closer Cal is faced with a decision of what he wants in life – is a relationship with one person what he wants? Grey thinks he is ready to move on with his life – is Cal the right partner for him? The stalker adds additional heat and intrigue to the story line. Well written with great character development and tension that is well communicated through prose!

This was just full of drama, entertainment and also so full of hope. I loved the way the previous characters came back and the level of drama that the story had. I have loved the series so far and just couldn’t recommend this anymore.

Chivalry isn’t Dead!!!
Written by JennM73 on 3rd Aug 2022

Cal and Grey make my heart warm!!!! We were previously introduced to them and in this book we got to know them. Grey and Cal spent a hot night with one another when they met at a dinner at Mac’s home and the connection they made carried with them as they tried to move on. Grey sweeps in to come to Cal’s assistance and that connection continues to grow as does the chemistry between them. This slow burn romance is worth the wake and the heat factor is set on high!!!! I am sad that this is the last book in this series!!!

I enjoyed this book. There was danger and tension with a stalker growing closer and more threatening. It's not my usual type of read, but add in a fake relationship and m/m romance and I had to pick it up. An interesting read that held my attention. 4 stars.

A great love story.
Written by Miss Kitty Moto on 3rd Aug 2022

This is book #3 of the NY Nights series and the first that I have read by this author. I am glad that I did. I was able to fully enjoy this book without having read the previous two books. I really enjoyed this book. This is the story of Grey and Cal. Grey is a widower and runs his own PR firm. Cal is an up and coming artist. They had previously spent a night together in an earlier book. While they each committed to one night, neither of them is able to put that night behind them. Cal is being harrassed by a stalker for almost a year. He is surrounded by security all of the time. He feels caged and wants the stalker caught. He is avoiding people and his friends as he doesn't want to put them at risk. Grey flys into NY to see Cal. It appears his stalker has taken an interest in him as well. In order to draw out the stalker, the idea of a fake wedding is hatched. Grey and Cal, with the help of their friends, will put on a fake wedding. The chemistry between them is off the charts. Neither has forgotten that one night. What could go wrong? This is their story. The book is very well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed it. I will definately be looking for more books by this author.

Trust your gut.

Grey, is a widower and a workaholic. He is Wes' best friend. It gives great context to read all of the series in order. The friends are amazing and their stories are sweet. Cal, is an artist who has paid his dues and is enjoying his success. A moment out of time, Grey and Cal shared an amazing unbelievable memorable night. Then they went back to their lives. Grey, is Cal's new PR rep. 10 months later, Cal, dismissed his stalker as a nuisance, until the stalker shared a picture at an invitation only event. He has a bodyguard, Oliver, and Jon, the PI who are hellping protect him. He is aware and afraid to the point of suffering anxiety attacks. He is barely managing his fear, then the stalker looks at Grey. Can Oliver protect Cal and Grey? Does Oliver protect Cal? Does Jon identify and catch the stalker? Is Cal's show a success? Sweet story. Great characters and found family. It's a good read watching how Cal and Grey navigate a frightening uncontrolled challenge. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great conclusion!
Written by DProsh807 on 3rd Aug 2022

Absolutely loved this series and the characters! This was a great conclusion to a fun series and finally glad we got a chance to see Cal and Grey’s story! Against the backdrop of the fake marriage storyline and the troubles that Cal has been having (mentioned in prior book), you see a relationship begin and grow. I really enjoyed how the author uses the interactions in this group of friends and prior history the characters have together to shape the dynamic of the relationship. The characters have a history in some form or another and how that influences their future. Both Cal and Grey are swoon worthy in their own way and it was such a fun read!

One night stand?
Written by SMK9 on 3rd Aug 2022

This is another great addition to the NY Nights series. It starts out as just another one-night stand but turns into so much more than either man expected. There is mystery, love, misunderstandings, friends, found family, you name it, and this book pretty much has it! Ava does a fantastic job of keeping you engrossed in the story from different aspects. You have a budding romance, mystery stalker, fighting bodyguard and PI as well as trying to keep the muse talking for art. If you like a bit of intrigue with your love stories, this is a good one for you.

A Stalker and a Fake Wedding Lead to the Real Thing
Written by acpatrick on 3rd Aug 2022

Cal and Grey had a brief encounter in the past that neither ever forgot. When Cal is threatened by a dangerous stalker, he and Grey hatch a plan to draw out the stalker with a fake wedding. Cal's security team works 24/7 to protect them and capture the stalker. The fake wedding turns out to be less fake than they planned. It's an enjoyable story.

A great combo of sweet and steamy
Written by Em G on 3rd Aug 2022

Grey and Cal have a bit of history together - one steamy night to be exact. Both are left with the other running on repeat through their mind. Fast forward 10 months. Cal is an up and coming artist who has found himself with a stalker to go alongside his growing notoriety in the art world. Grey has been hired on as Cal’s PR manager and finds himself pulled into the action. These two get some forced proximity chemistry going that is off the charts. This story started a little slowly for me - I loved both characters right away but they pushed each other away for longer than seemed feasible. They were each dropping big hints about their feelings but each seemed clueless for a good while before they finally acted. Once we got going though, wow this was a good story. I loved Cal and Grey together and individually - they were both kind and caring. I really enjoyed the stalker plot line even though I figured pieces out pretty early. That didn’t take away any of my enjoyment of watching it unfold. Grey and Cal had some very romantic words for each other and I was all there for it! I found myself rereading both some of the swoony parts as well as the steamy parts. These two were off the charts good together! I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy dramatic moments for couples that pull them together. This was my first book by the author and I plan to read more! I give this book 4.5/5 stars, only removing half a star for the long stretch of push and pull at the beginning.

Unforgettable You is a good story. Main characters Cal and Grey had a one-night-stand ten months prior to the tie of this book, and they’re both still thinking about it. Cal, who is an artist, has a stalker, and Grey, a PR person, volunteers to lure the stalker out into the open by fake marrying Cal. I won't spoil the story, but as a romance, we do have the usual sexual angst, come conflict, and a happy resolution. Since I had not read any of the other books, it took me a bit of time to keep the characters separate in my head (they were introduced too quickly, in my opinion). And it did seem a little odd that almost everyone was gay, but that might just be me and my own experience (in which my gay friends don't hang out with only gay people). Good amount of steam for those who want it. I would read more by Ava Olsen!

Unforgettable You by author Ava Olsen is the third book in the NY Knights series. This story is told in dual POV, which lets me understand what the characters are thinking. I loved that. I have not read all of the previous books in this series, and I was not lost starting here. Cal is a NY-based Artist. He is outstanding. He is usually the one for the wild, weird, new experience lover. But with a stalker after him, he is caged up with bodyguards and going a little nutty. I feel for Cal he is being stifled when we first meet him. Grey is a public relations manager. Usually calm, controlled, and not one to show all of his emotions. But after one night with the man he cannot forget, he feels like his emotions are out of control. I liked these two together they each have what the other needs. I am so glad I got to read this story and want more from this series in the future.

To be honest, I was a little bit uneasy with the content however that's my own personal experience. I would say that it was greatly executed in terms of targeting the erotic genre. It is a story about two men and if this is something you may be interesting in reading then I encourage you to do so. I also think this is definitely a novel that people of different sexual orientation may find amusing including those who are also interested in the same sex.

I don't know how I've never heard of Ava Olsen before in the LGBTQ book community, but I'm so unbelievably happy that I've found her and this series! I honestly LOVED this book. I was gripped with the storyline, I thought the sexual tension was hot and the smut lefted me feeling like an inferno. I can not wait to read the first 2 books in this series and of course read the books that follow on from Unforgettable You.

This was my first read from Ava Olsen and I can say I wasnt disappointed. It was also my first M4M read and, again, wasnt disappointed. Olsen gives a very quick, light, spicy read. While this is the third in the series, I didnt notice that I was missing anything or the plot line without reading the other two. So can be read as a stand alone. I'd give the spice level a 4/5 rating. Some points were very steamy. My biggest complaint would be the quickness in which the storyline ran. If you're looking for story about a man trying to find his way out of a stalker situation by marrying someone he doesn't particularly care for, with lots of spice and other LGBQT characters, this would be the quick read for you Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this.

tropes: forced proximity, fake dating - I was approved to read this book as an e-arc on netgalley. Cal, an artist, is being stalked by someone who calls him his soulmate, he decides to hire Grey who owns a public relation firm. But after seeing the two talk, Cal's stalker decides to threaten Grey. Cal and Grey decide to fake date to lure the stalker out and to finally catch them. But there is one catch, Cal and Grey hooked up, one year ago, after a dinner with mutual friends and were unable to forget each other. I really loved this book even though I had trouble getting into it at first, but once I was in, I was hooked. I really loved Cal and Grey, even though they are both really different and had different takes on love, one lost his wife 2 years ago and the other had never been in love, they were both willing to put their heart at risk for the other. I also really loved the thriller sub plot of this book, and liked that the book was more focused on Cal and Grey than on the stalker.

Callum is under house arrest…. well that’s how he sees it anyway. The flamboyant artist is confined to home, in the company of a body guard and private investigator after being sent threatening emails and pictures. It appears there’s a stalker and he’s not sure of the impending risk prior to the biggest exhibition of his career. What’s worse is that Callum’s most recent crunch (and previous one night stand) Grey, ends up on his doorstep, as he’s received threats as well following a photograph being taken of the couple at a function. Callum has two choices - hide away from the stalker, or smoke them out … he chooses the latter with the help of Grey who agrees to a fake marriage. What follows is the spiralling of a crazed stalker … against the feelings developed by Cal and Grey as they spend more time together, embattled against the stalkers threats. Grey is widower who finds himself willing to love again, but Cal doesn’t want to settle down. Grey is a delightful character, and Cal …. Well he’s a bit more high maintenance. A nice story, if but a tad unbelievable with a pretty predictable plot.

Greyson and Cal met via their friends at a dinner party months ago. they had a very special night together - bu didn't tell any of their friends about it. Cal has a long history of being one-and-done. Grey lost his wife in a car accident several years ago - and hasn't had any interest in dating or sex since she passed away. After their night together, neither can stop thinking about the other - but with a stalker targeting Cal and Grey taking on Cal's public relations - its complicated. But when the stalker steps up their game - Cal and Grey agree to "fake" a relationship and wedding to draw the stalker out. I loved both Grey and Cal - and really just wanted to give Cal such a big hug. The forced proximity of this book really worked to bring both guys feelings out quickly. Their interactions and feelings burned so brightly on the pages of the book. I also continue to adore this group of close, found family. This book, and the series as a whole, is such an antidote to toxic masculinity - and I am HERE for it! I received this as an ARC via Netgalley, but these opinions are all my own.

This story is about Cal and Grey. The two met at a party with mutual friends. Grey was recently widowed and having a hard time with his loss. Later that evening he invited Cal to his hotel and room where they spent the night together. Soon after that Cal freaked out and left and the two never talked about what would happen after. They're total opposites, Cal is a free spirited artist who didn't grow up with parents that loved and supported him. Grey is a pr manager, more rational and wants commitment. Fast forward several months and Cal has a stalker and has to hire body guards and hide out in his home. All of a sudden Grey is also being stalked by the same person who finds him being too close with Cal a threat. The two end up living together and come up with the idea of a fake marriage to lure the stalker out of hiding. Can the two trick the stalker? Can they work out their growing feelings for each other and possibly start a life together? Read and find out! I really enjoyed reading this book. Its the third in the series and the spice was fantastic. I did guess who the stalker was halfway through, but it was still very fun to read. Tws; stalking, violence, mental health

‘Are you sure about that ? As I recall, a firm hand is just what you like.’ THIS, is what I’m talking about. I don’t know specifically how my parents screwed me up but I really really like ‘daddy’ vibes. Even mild ones. Cal & Grey had a one-night-stand once and they’re both still not over it. When Cal’s stalker seemingly gets more aggressive, his security team suggests a fake marriage to lure this person out into the open. Grey volunteers. The rest is history. The thriller/romance is on the long list of my favorite subgenres and that’s why I was immediately drawn to this book. The thriller part was more of a subplot however and resolved pretty quickly. Personally I didn’t really mind. At the end of the day, it’s a contemporary romance with an emotionally mature widower and a less emotionally mature serial dater. I may have cried a bit towards the end even with the slightly cringey conversation. FYI, I think the widower angle was handled very well. I usually don’t really like to read about widower characters but thinking about my few other experiences with the trope, I’m pretty sure that this one comes out on top. Also, I think I have a thing for the name Cal. Is it me or is this an objectively sexy name ?

**4.5 Stars** Unforgettable You is a perfect mix of mystery, drama and romance with great friendships and some seriously scorching chemistry between the main characters. I read book two in the series previously but this book can be read as a standalone. It was nice to see some familiar faces return in this book though as all the characers are friends. Cal is an artist who as of late finds himself dealing with a stalker. As the stalker's focus increases in intensity making Cal more nervous, it is agreed that Grey would take over his PR. Grey is one of Cal's best friend's friends and a former one-night stand that he is having trouble forgetting about. When the stalker proves to be making things even more complicated and things get even more dangerous, it puts Cal and Grey in more of a forced proximity situation, which also fuels their chemistry and feelings for each other. I adored Grey and Cal and loved them together. Their chemistry was palpable and I found myself rooting for them from the start. I enjoyed the plot of the story and was engaged from begining to end. I was highly impressed with the writing and story line and look forward to reading more of this author's work in the future. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

The book Unforgettable You by Ava Olsen is about romance and LGBTQIA. It talks about a New York based artist and illustrator named Cal and Grey who owns a public relation firm in Toronto. Cal and Grey happens to have a one night stand and afterwards things got heated emotionally between them; with Cal been a guy that hardly falls in love and Grey who lost his wife and is still Vulnerable. Cal got his social life messed up because of an invincible stalker who loves him and continue to send threat messages to him. Grey and Cal have to plan an arranged marriage living together for a month to get their stalker out of the bag so they can be able to live their normal social life without fear. Can they be able to control their feelings? This book is really nice, if you are a fan of Intense romance you should tighten your seat belt because things really got heated without any detail left out. I love the characters and how their physique was clearly described as it made it easy for me to paint a clear picture of what this people looks like in real life. Their physique matches the role they played in the book. The houses in the book have so much detailing and a clear picture in my mind as what the houses looks in real life. If you are a fan of same sex fantasy, intense romance then this book is actually for you
