McLeod Security, 2

Revenge is best served cold…

Gabriel Henshaw is nothing but a monster—a ruthless killer—that’s what Lissa Andrini has always been told. Sold to the man by her own father, she fears for her life, yet she can’t help the insane pull she feels to him. It has to be some form of Stockholm syndrome, surely? It couldn’t possibly be the effect of his Dominant nature effortlessly pulling her under his spell and awakening her latent submissive side.

Beating Andrini to a bloody pulp soothes Gabe’s rage temporarily, but that leaves his daughter. Were it not for a promise to her mother, he’d refuse this payment, not least because Lissa Andrini awakens all of his protective and carnal instincts. The perfect counterfoil for his darker needs and desires, she has the power to bring him to his knees.

Can love flourish when you’re a pawn in a dangerous game?

Be Warned: BDSM, spanking, anal sex, Daddy Dom/little girl play

Excerpt:

“Fuck you, Sir.”

The snarky intonation she put on that title, while she yanked her chin up and did her best to stare him down, should have made him do good on his promise to put her over his knee. However, the slight wobble in her bottom lip, coupled with the way every delectable curve of her body was pressed into his frame, meant any such action would be a very bad idea indeed. He wouldn’t be able to keep his hands off of her, and he didn’t want her first time to be angry sex. She deserved better than that.

“Oh, fuck we will, my dear, but not now and not here.”

Her eyes grew wide, her already fast breaths sped up even more, and Gabe swallowed a groan. He let go of her and stepped back for some much-needed breathing space. As it was his cock was trying his hardest to break out the confines of the denim surrounding it. Gabe couldn’t even remember the last time he wanted a woman this damn much.

“So, you’re going to add rape to your rap sheet. Murdering innocent women wasn’t enough for you?”

A gasp from behind them alerted Gabe to Mavis’s presence, and sure enough when he turned his head it was to see her standing there. Hands pushed into the pockets of her ever-present apron her lips were pressed into a fine line, signaling her disapproval.

“Parkinson is here, Gabe,” she said.

“Thank you, Mavis, I’ll be there in a minute.”

She nodded, glanced at Lissandra and shook her head.

“Tell her the truth, Gabe, all of it. Or this will never work.”

With that, she turned and left them alone on the terrace.

“Oh my God, she knows, doesn’t she? I thought she was nice and I could trust her. Oh, I’m such a fool.”

Lissandra tried to get past him, but he stepped in her way.

“Lissa, don’t.” She pushed against his chest in a vain effort to make him move and then glared up at him.

“Don’t you dare call me that. Only Mama ever called me that. Don’t you fucking dare…” She slammed her hand over her mouth and shook her head. Misery and despair rolled off of her in waves, and Gabe had to fight the urge to take her in his arms. She wouldn’t welcome that move right now, if ever, and now was not the time.

Instead he crossed his arms over his chest, widened his stance, and simply looked at her.

“I’ll call you anything I damn well, please, little girl, and you will lose the attitude. I told you last night, you’re mine now, so you better get used to it. As for Mavis, she is the most loyal person I ever met. Without her, I doubt I would have survived my childhood, so you be nice to her, do you hear me?”

“Or what? You’ll kill me, too?” The mumbled reply grated, and he took several deep breaths to calm himself.

“If I wanted you dead, you’d be six feet under already, girl. After the hit on your father went wrong, I’ve never trusted anyone else to do the killing for me ever again.” He waited for that to sink in, and sure enough her head came up, and she stared wide-eyed, confusion evident on her face.

“I thought… it wasn’t…”

“No, little girl. I’m not such a bastard that I would rob a child of its mother, especially when that mother’s only crime was falling in love and staying with that fucker, Andrini. Besides, I prefer to kill with my hands. Much more satisfying.” He uncrossed his arms and wrapped his hands around her slender throat. Her heartbeat jumped under his palms, and he squeezed just once before he released her. “To feel the life draining out a piece of scum that crossed me … that’s sweet.”

“You’re a monster.” Her whispered reply made him grin.

“Yes, I suppose I am. You better get used to it, little girl, and don’t get any silly ideas of crossing me. You behave and do as you’re told, and we’ll get along just fine.”

She swallowed hard, but gave the tiniest nod, and that would have to do for now.

“Good girl, that wasn’t so hard now, was it?”

“So, you’ll kill me if I don’t behave?” She mimed quotation marks around that one word and nudged her chin up in a move of defiance that simply served to make him harder. It would be fun to tame all that passion, indeed, and knowing that he would be the first man ever to touch her, to teach her … fuck, what a turn-on that was. Gabe had never cared much about being the first. He wasn’t possessive over the women he fucked. That would mean he cared about them to be anything more than a convenient set of holes to sink his dick into, but this was Lissandra Andrini. His revenge and he was fast beginning to realize his destiny, too. Whether she’d also prove to be his downfall remained to be seen.

“Killing is too easy an out. That’s the only reason Andrini still lives. I want him to suffer, to wallow in his own filth. Death is too good for the likes of him. As for you…” He paused and smiled. “I’ve already told you what I’ll do to you. And once that ass of yours is red raw I will fuck it, so, maybe I’ll kill you after all with the petit mort, at least.”

Her sharp intake of breath almost sounded like a moan, and acting on instinct, he stepped closer, and shoved his hand under her robe to cup her mound. Wet heat greeted his palm, and he smirked, while a blush suffused her pale skin.

“What are you? You can’t … oh…” She tried to clamp her legs together, but one shake of his head stopped her. He forced himself to remove his hand, looked at the glistening evidence of her arousal on his palm and held it up for her to see.

“Protest all you want, Lissa. Hate me if you must, but your body doesn’t lie.” He licked the wetness off his hands and immediately regretted that, as her feminine musk hit his nostrils. Damn, she smelled good.

“I do, I hate you.” Her denial was too breathy to be truly effective, and Gabe laughed.

“No problem, my sweet. You don’t have to like me to enjoy fucking me. Now, go and get dressed, and meet me in the living room in ten minutes. Don’t make me wait, or so help me I drag you out there like this or maybe naked.” He grinned at her simmering outrage. “I’m sure my men would enjoy the view.”

“You wouldn’t dare?”

Gabe threw his head back and laughed.

“Oh, my sweet, never dare the monster.”

Long and Short Reviews

If you are a romance lover then Doris O’Connor is a must read author. This is not my first time reading one of her books and will not be the last. Gabe’s Revenge is a BDSM Romance that has a Daddy/Daughter play (not real daddy/daughter) going on that may not be for everyone’s taste. Gabe is a dominant who is bent on getting his revenge from Lissa’s father, however, when her father sells her to Gabe, everything changes. Gabe has a history with Lissa’s father and mother and that has been incorporated into the story really well. Gabe is ruthless but kind and protective to the people who work for him; and those people mean a lot to him. Lissa is an artist who had a good childhood until her mother died. When her father sells her, she is forced to come face to face with the worst side of humanity. I do have to mention that the book has some scenes of violence and torture; after all Gabe is not an angel. However, with Gabe by her side, it proves to be an enjoyable read. Their passion and chemistry is off the charts. It is the second book in the series which I did not know until I completely finished the book. That means it can be read as a stand-alone. The story is well developed and it was difficult and almost impossible to stop reading until I was completely done. It’s a recommended read.

Gabe and Lissa, hot couple!
Written by Evita on 29th Jul 2018

Gabe and Lissa’s story was one I totally loved. Doris sure knows how to write the heat level in her stories. It was scorching hot, the chemistry between those two. Lissa is basically to Gabe by her father to pay off his debt, so things don’t start off in the right foot but Gabe is also trying to protect her from falling into an even worse character than him. He’s seen her grow up and now has deep feelings for her. Lissa finds herself attracted to Gabe but tries to fight it, he just bought her after all. Gradually Gabe wears down her defenses and they both give in to their desires. Doris always writes with such gusto, both in her characters and the storyline. I hope you pick up this story and find out for herself. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Knotty Girls Book Reviews

Gabe’s Revenge is the second release in mega-hot author Doris “Get Out Your Fans” O’Connor’s McLeod Security series. (And I mean it, you’ll want a fan handy for this one, or at least air conditioning!) This is a May-December romance that has some undertones of Beauty and the Beast going on, but definitely with it’s own steamy take. Gabe is in charge of several businesses in London’s underbelly. One of his debtors has a daughter, Lisandra, or Lissa. When her father becomes deeply indebted to Gabe, Gabe decides that Lissa is his payment, even though he’s the one who introduced her parents. Lissa is furious, and when given the chance, paints Gabe as a monster, but is he really? As Lissa gets to know the alpha, dominant Gabe, who will she turn to? Once again, Doris has written a spellbinding book that I just couldn’t put down! You don’t want to miss this one!

The Romance Reviews
Written by Merissa on 9th Jul 2018

GABE'S REVENGE is the second book in the McLeod Security series, and to be honest, I was confused for 90% of the book where McLeod Security actually fell in this story, although it all became clear. Lissa is the daughter of Andrini, a small time crook with big dreams. She is unloved and unwanted, but is still surprised when her father sells her to Gabe in payment of a debt. She has no idea what is going on, and do react badly (normally!!) to begin with. However, as she learns more about Gabe and just what it is he does, her feelings grow. It's not all fun in paradise though, and they have to work through betrayal and lies to even have a chance of Happy Ever After. This was a great story with plenty of action, both in and out of the sheets, going on. There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, and I found the pacing to be spot on. The transitions from one scene to the next were very smooth, and added to the reading experience. With a great cast of secondary characters, I thoroughly enjoyed every word, and look forward to reading more in this series. Absolutely recommended by me.

So good

Gabe was not happy to see Andrini in his casino. He knew there had to be a reason, Lissandra. HELL!!! Lissa is the daughter of his worst enemy and the one woman that he promised to protect her daughter. But when he sees her, so much like her mother but not. Feelings heat up. Lissa thinks that Gabe is the enemy and that her emotions for him are all wrong. How can she feel temptation for a man that has just acquired her as payment from her father. But everything she knew is going to change in all sorts of ways. I am really loved this one. Who cant love a powerful man that has nothing but contempt for his enemy but wants to show the daughter how to beg at his feet. But beyond that. Gabe was hot and wasn’t going to allow anyone to get in his way or take his wife. Lissa finally found her place with him. She was almost afloat with all the past hurts and her evil father. This story was an adventure but also so worth the wet feelings.

The monster and his angel
Written by Wilmaran on 20th Jun 2018

OMG! Doris O’Connor! You have done it again. I could not put this book down. Gabe’s Revenge is book 2 in The McLeod Security series and is the story of Gabriel Henshaw (Gabe) and Lissandra Andrini (Lissa). I love the way this author creates heros that are hard and strong to the world they lives in yet are gentle and caring when needed. And heroines that at first appear innocent and sheltered yet become smart, sassy and independent when the need arises. The secondary characters are strong and funny, often adding to humor and family dynamics to her stories. A terrible wrong was done to Gabe years earlier. While in the midst of exacting his revenge a wonderful thing started to happen. Sometimes the coldest hearts can start to melt when touched by the flames of an angel. The innocence that isn’t a part of the darkness that live in his world. A world that he would do anything to protect her from. Lissa is a beautiful young woman with a kind heart that unwittingly becomes the victim of betrayal by the one person who should have protected her at all costs. Thrust into a world with killers that have bodyguards and a loyal maid (sigh), she soon realizes that all killers aren’t evil and some monsters need to die. This was a wonderful story that kept you turning the next page til the very end. The love scenes of Gabe and Lissa are smoking hot. If you’ve read any of this author’s books, you know you’re in for a great time. And while these books can be read as a stand-alone, it was fun hearing from characters from the first book, Her Husband’s Army Buddy. I gave this book 5 stars because they didn’t offer 6 (smile). I know. I know. Still on a book high

Another awesome story!
Written by Rhonda on 20th Jun 2018

I loved this story between Gabe and Lissa. After being basically "sold" to Gabe to pay off her father's debt, Lissa struggles to hate him because of all she has been told about him. She is quickly finding out that some of the stories are simply not true and she finds herself attracted to him. Gabe can't believe that he wants Lissa in the most carnal way. She confuses him and at the same time makes him burn for her. Little by little, he introduces her to his life and along the way, Lissa endears herself to the secondary characters in the story. But there are still dark forces gunning for Gabe and Lissa is also in danger!! When she is taken by his enemies, he gets help from characters in the first book in this series. (another awesome book) Will they get to her in time? Even though Gabe has his dark side, you can tell that he is mush for this woman and will do anything for her! Do yourself a favor and get this book!!

Monster with a heart of gold
Written by Leslie O'Brien on 20th Jun 2018

“Gabe’s Revenge” is book 2 in the new McLeod Security series and I’m fairly sure I had a wide grin on my face through most of the story. If you’ve never read one of Doris O’Connor’s stories, you’re in for a real treat because her characters have heart. But so do plenty of other stories, you’re thinking. While, yes, that’s true, with Ms. O’Connor’s stories, I find myself becoming emotionally invested in the wellbeing of her characters far more than I do with other authors. First and foremost, this is definitely a romance and you will find yourself tickled at the scintillating scenes between Lissa and Gabe. Lissa is sweet and sassy making her easily likable. Gabe makes for a formidable character who melts like butter in Lissa’s presence. The secondary characters help round out the story showing the lighter, better side to Gabe. Overall, this was a grand read and a wonderful way to spend the evening. *Points up. I did mention that this is story 2 in this series but each story, thus far, serves as a standalone; although I think you’d enjoy “Her Husband's Army Buddy” too.
