Jayden nodded and handed over a small ticket in exchange for the card. “Not like you have many places to keep things.”
“You like it?” he asked, and Jayden nodded.

Connor grinned. His outfit was brand new. A pale-pink silk bra with cream lace, and matching panties, or “manties” as the shop called them. The order had only arrived a day before, and he’d been eager to try them out. The online shop specialized in male lingerie, and he’d been delighted with his purchases.
Thigh-highs in pink with cream lace, and his red stilettos completed the ensemble. The extra height helped his confidence. He’d seen a few appreciative glances as he’d headed to the bar. However, so far, no one had approached him. He picked up his glass and saluted Jayden. He wasn’t going to let it spoil his evening if no one did.
The right one is out there for me. I just have to find him.
He sipped his drink, staying at the bar. If no one came to him by the time he finished his cocktail, he’d head out onto the dance floor. He would enjoy himself, just by being himself. It was a relief to relax after the stress of work.
Everyone assumed that as a booking administrator, he just typed up letters, sent emails, or filed masses of paperwork, but his role was far more demanding than that. The role was integral to the smooth running of the department, and without him patients didn’t get appointments or surgery.
There was also a lot of liaison required between the clerical admin and clinical staff. Connor had taken to it like a duck to water. He shook his head. It was hard to believe that he’d already done the job for ten years.
It was the first job he’d gotten since arriving in the little city. It was much different from the litigation job with a solicitors’ firm he’d previously had, but it offered far more job satisfaction. Connor rubbed the back of his neck.
I really don’t want to think about work right now. I came here because I wanted something much nicer to focus on. Or perhaps I should say, someone.
Changing his mind about the dance floor for the moment, Connor ordered a glass of the house champagne. He’d savor it, then work it off dancing before heading home.
As Jayden set it down, a guy in red leather pants ambled toward Connor, looking him over from head to toe. Connor glared back at him, as if daring him to approach. Which, after a second’s hesitation, he did.
“You look like you’re full of sass to me,” the stranger said, jamming his hands on his hips.
“Really?” Connor said. “And just what business is that of yours? You sound like you’re full of crap, but what business is that of mine?” Connor glanced down at his nails as if they were suddenly the most interesting thing in the club.
“Maybe I should take care of it.” The man’s voice was deep and gravelly, and Connor glanced up at him.
As their gazes locked, Connor stared intently at the man. He was clearly a Dom, muscled the way Connor liked, but not a bear, which he preferred. But, although the stranger had ignored Connor’s glower, there was a hint of uncertainty in his eyes.
That just isn’t going to work. Connor needed someone whose confidence in himself left him completely undaunted by any of the bratty tricks Connor was likely to play.
“That’s a generous offer, and I’m sure the brat appreciates it. However, I don’t think you’re the right man for the job.” The new voice was deep, sensual, and oozed confidence.
It was all Connor could do not to openly drool at the new speaker. The newcomer was easily six and a half feet tall, broad, and furred. He pressed every button Connor possessed. Still admiring the view, Connor almost whined at the sight of the lush body hair across his chest and down to his stomach.
His eyes widened as he looked lower. The man wore a kilt, hung so low on his hips that not only were his V lines partly visible, but so was a thick, dark treasure trail.
“Good luck. I think you’ll need it.” The first man exchanged a smirk with the dark-haired god who gave a good-natured chuckle.
Connor glared at the retreating Dom, and then focused his attention on the kilted man before him. He raised his head and jutted his chin forward. “I believe you called me ‘brat’?” Despite, or perhaps because of, his attraction to the newcomer, Connor’s voice was as brittle as ice.
The Dom simply smiled, a slow curve of his lips until a row of even, white teeth were displayed.
Connor was thankful he’d had the foresight to have already donned a cock ring, so there was no way the man before him could know what affect that smile had on him. At least, he shouldn’t, but his gaze dropped straight to Connor’s groin.
Power Play is a really well written short story that gives us a peek into Connors world as by day he navigates working with a homophobic boss and by night he seeks to find a Dom who can deal with his over the top personality and mischievous brattiness. When Lyall walks into the club and unceremoniously claims him, Connor finds his life changing for the better.
This story is fun and hot, even if a bit predictable. I hope there are future stories about this pair.

Connor met lyall at a club he hadn't been to in awhile. Lyall was everything Connor wanted in a Dom and lyall wanted a lasting relationship. These soon were getting serious and after 3 weeks lyall dropped a bomb on Connor. But it was nothing that would make Connor run because he wanted his Dom for the long haul!

Fun and hot

This was a fun and hot short story that introduced us to Connor and Lyall. Connor has a high stress job with a homophobic for a supervisor that also places blame on everyone but himself. This adds to Connor's stress in a huge way. He hits up the club looking for a Dom that can handle his brattiness and man, did he find one in Lyall ;D Lyall found Connor's sass endearing and set out to see if they could be what each other needed. I loved the twist that brought Lyall into Connor's life on more than one level and am hopeful for more of these two beyond their HFN ending. I really enjoyed my first foray into this author's work and look forward to diving into more :D

Pelaam is one of my favorite go to writers when I want something quick and dirty! Power Play does the trick. Conner is very good at his job, but sometimes the stress added by his terrible boss has him going to a club to let off steam. Meeting Lyall, Conner finds the furry, confident Daddy he needs to control his mouthy self.
It didn’t take me long to read and enjoy Power Play. I hope you enjoy it too!

Spicy Beginnings

Woooowee, this was hotter than I expected!
The story is a peek into Connor’s life as a hospital admin and absolute brat with a capital B when he’s just getting into a relationship with a Dom named Lyall. Connor’s club attire and persona were so hot and a little unexpected, and I also enjoyed seeing how Lyall could confidently handle the bratty sub. Plus the spice had me fanning myself!
There’s and HEA of sorts…more like happily ever after with it being left open to possibilities since we’re just seeing the first month of them getting together.

I did enjoy reading Connor and Lyall’s story it was short and definitely spicy with immediate attraction and a sizzling chemistry that was irresistible to deny which made for a good quick read

I loved the twist that brought Lyall into Connor's life on more than one level and am hopeful for more of these two beyond their HFN ending.
