Kole sheathed his blade, turned, and offered Skyler his hand. When she placed her pale, trembling fingers in his palm, he drew her close to his body. She raised her chin to stare into his fire-gold eyes.
Kole bent toward her, his lips drawing nearer. When his mouth brushed hers, rather than push him away, she opened to him. Kole’s lips pressed hard against hers, his tongue thrusting inside, his exploration wild, hungry.
Skyler gasped, shocked by either the kiss or her response. Her knees weakened, her hands resting on Kole’s warm chest for support. Short bursts of electricity flowed into her, eliciting soft moans as he pulled her tighter against him, his arousal a hard prod at her belly.
When he withdrew, he met her gaze with confusion. He cleared his throat. “Choose, Chief Maxwell. Dermott or me?”
What an exciting read! This is the second book in 'The Blood Coven' series' and Skyler and Kole's story. It's filled with adventure, danger, and steam. I liked how we see the other characters a little as well. I'm so excited to read the next book in this amazing series.
This book in the series gives us a double whammy of danger, action, adventure, and romance. Not only is it the tale of Kole and Skyler, but Margo and Chay as well. Interwoven the two romances fall in line with the overall series plot moving things onward toward prophecy realized or thwarted as the case may be. There is a lot going on and many plotlines to follow, making this a truly epic series. I can't wait to see what the next in the series has to offer.
I really loved this book. The story is so well written and is told from many POV's which hold your interest throughout. I love these characters.
Smexy, spicy and filled with hot (excuse the pun) moments with plenty of bad-boy antics and adventure. Skyler our FMC is smart, fiercely intelligent and in deep need to open her emotions to the world. Kole, our hottie demon, provides the key to unlock Skyler's and his own passion and off-the-charts chemistry! This was an excellent follow up to the first book. Super excited to see the next in the series.
Skyler is only dedicated to her career. She Chief Legal Officer of the Alliance Security Agency. She finds after being pushed off the subway platform an email revealing the Alliance's secrets of paranormals, vampires, demons, and satyrs. Kole is a Demon and Commander of the Firebrands and he's been assigned to escort Skyler around. Skyler has a mind of her own and dismisses warnings about what to wear and talking too much. Skyler ends up dragging Kole into all kinds of trouble. Kole and Skyler find that they have a connection with each other. There is lots going on in the plot, violence, sex, betrayals, secrets, suspense, and a quest to find the Blood descendants. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book. It was well written and outstanding book.
THIS BOOK HAD ALL THE HEAT! It was a deep story line and a rich layering of feelings and heat. This is one series I will keep reading.
I loved this story with the action, adventure, suspense, danger, drama, passion and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. I loved the characters Skyler who is the chief legal officer for the Alliance and Kole a demon and commander who plays tour guide for Skyler they both clash a lot but there’s also attraction. Loved this story and the characters and I highly recommend this book.
This second installment of The Blood Coven was well written and kept me hooked from beginning to end. I can't wait to see what T.M. Smith has in store for us next.
The second book in the Blood Coven Series, by a new Author to me. Demon Commander Kole and Alliance Representative Skyler's action packed, steamy story held my interest until the end. I received a copy of this book via Evernight and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kole is a demon who needs sex everyday to survive, and Skyler is the frosty buttoned up chief legal officer. He has to show her around and keep her safe which is not easy. When he melts her frost the fire explodes between them. All the while trying to keep her safe
I thought first book was good. But this one was great too, characters were great and the storyline easy to follow I simply couldn’t put it down
This is part two of the Blood Coven series. Skylar is being hunted because she is from a blood monastery and Kole does his utmost to protect her. Skylar only has the disadvantage that she has a gift for always getting herself into trouble or danger. There's plenty of suspense, a bit of drama, danger but also a lot of romance and steam. I'm already looking forward to the next book in this series.
There are so many layers to this tale; it's definitely not a book to read with a deadline. The story is told from many POVs and they are all important to the overall. A stubborn woman and an arrogant demon. What could go wrong...or right. It's definitely exciting.
This is the second story in the creative "Blood Coven" series. It can be read in as a stand alone read but you may get more out of the story if you read the prior one first. It is a paranormal vampire story that is full length and very intriguing. I really like the characters and how the story builds and develops. It is fast paced and does have some possible triggers. I enjoyed every bit of this read.
Complex world with many plot threads. So many characters I had to keep a list to keep them straight. The world build is incredible and there's so many facts about each of the different cultures. Sex doesn't happen until near the end of the book but it is very appropriate given the relationship of the two main characters. There was a lot going on and I found myself wanting to keep reading to see how it all ended up. There is a very nice hea at the end as a bonus.
This was a pretty good read. I couldn't bout it down till the very end. Can't wait btobread me from this Author.
I so enjoyed this second book of the Blood Coven Series, The Demon’s Fire. A Paranormal Romance stand-alone that lights all the fires in the right places with its excellent writing, detailed world building and super delicious Demon Commander Kole who is unwillingly teamed up with a frosty Alliance Representative Skyler, a female who is in definite need of a little thawing. An immersive action-adventure filled with intrigue, spice and twists soon has the narrative flowing at a fast clip leaving no doubt in this readers mind that this was going to be a REALLY good read!
I completely fell in love with this book and the characters. Kole fought his attraction to Skylar. and Skylar fought her attraction to Kole. But that made it even better. Slow burns keep you turning the pages. There are also other little stories within the main story line which explains a lot of how everything began. As well as other fated couples starting their journey. I went back and read book one. Which is equally as good. I recommend reading that as well. I’m looking forward to reading all future books in this series. Looks like I found another great author.
Skylar needed Kole to give her a tour of the realm. While on the tour, they end up battling enemies and their feelings for one another. The reference in the beginning was quite intimidating. There are a lot characters in this book and it can hard to track. This is an enemies to lovers trope and it was well done.

An excel spreadsheet would be required to keep track of the names, character types, titles, and geographical areas. THE DEMON’S FIRE is another complex, multi-levelled and layered storyline wherein the reader is pulled into a complicated world, divided by magic, portals and creatures of all sorts. The premise is detailed, complicated, and intricate-the copious number of powerful and dynamic characters, geographical places and titles is often confusing; the romance is dramatic and provocative.
