Holly was close to giving up. She'd been running from the monsters for a few days, and it didn't look like the bad men were going to give up. When she finally saw a chance to escape, she took it but ended up with men that looked far more dangerous than the ones she was running from.
Jonah was shocked when he caught Holly. She was in bad shape, but he’d do whatever he needed to do to get her better. After finding out the extent of her problem, he knew it would be a long time before she’d ever be safe. As they got to know each other, he found she was exactly what he’d been looking for, and he knew he’d do anything to keep her safe.

Holly’s whole body shook from exhaustion, anxiousness, and terror. Her grip tightened on her friend, Caylee, as they looked for a way to escape the people who had taken them.
“What are we going to do?” Caylee whispered.
“I don’t know. Keep looking. There’s got to be a way to get away from here.”
Holly wondered for the hundredth time if they were going to survive this, and with the way things were going and every minute that passed, it didn’t look like it. She could think of so many things she had wanted to do in her life but would never have the chance.
She wanted to get married and buy a house. She’d dreamed of having children and maybe a dog. She never once imagined she’d be in the predicament she was in.
At the moment, they were under a smelly garbage dumpster in an alleyway and had seen the bad guys rush past a few times. Fortunately, they were small women and could hide in tight places.
She tried to ignore the rat feces, urine, and dank water they were lying in.
Caylee nudged her shoulder and pointed to a large black SUV that pulled into the alley. Two huge men got out and went in a back door.
Holly looked at Caylee. “This might be our only chance.”
“What if they’re with the bad guys or even worse?” Caylee asked.
“We don’t have a choice, Cay. We’ve been under here for two hours, and those guys are still looking for us. They’ve passed by here three times already. I’m shocked they haven’t looked under this dumpster yet.”
“I’m so scared,” Caylee said.
Hell, she was beyond scared, but she needed to keep it together for a little longer. “I am, too. Let’s go. We have to be in the back of the vehicle before they return.”
They looked around before pulling themselves out from under the dumpster and raced toward the SUV. She pulled open the back passenger door and scrambled in before closing it as quietly and carefully as possible while Caylee climbed in the way back.
Holly crawled in back and sat down beside her.
Caylee grabbed her arm and pointed to all the guns, computers, and miscellaneous things that she couldn’t have guessed what they were because she’d never seen anything like them before, but they looked as menacing as the guns from where she was sitting.
Oh, God, what had they done? It looked like they took the wrong step and were in the hands of men as bad as or worse than the bastards.
“We have to get out now,” Caylee said.
“I agree.” Holly nodded and went to stand when one and then another of the doors opened. Caylee pulled her back down, and they held on to each other. She felt the vehicle lower with the men’s weight, telling her they were as big or bigger than she first thought.
“Well, that was a bust,” one of the men said.
“Fuck. Let’s head back and regroup with the guys tomorrow.”
The SUV started to move. Holly looked at the fear that filled her friend’s eyes and knew it was mirrored in her own, but there was nothing she could do to alleviate it.
They needed to make a plan but couldn’t talk because they were afraid the men would hear them. As long as the men didn’t know they were there, they had a chance.
They were in their predicament because they wanted to try something new and get out and meet people. Instead, they wound up in the hands of a monster who threatened to do unspeakable things to them.
Holly blamed herself since it had been her idea and wished, more than anything, that she could go back in time and change what had happened to them.
Caylee’s life had never been easy, and neither was Holly’s. They met in a high school class and hit it off immediately. They had so much in common, and she’d never found another person who understood how she thought or enjoyed the things she did.
Now, because she had wanted them to expand their horizons, they might not get a chance at a future.

Even if you do everything right, it may go wrong.

I really liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable although it does talk about human trafficking, violence, and threats of violence. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Caylee and Holly were wonderful friends. They were so close that they were practically sisters. Nolan and Jonah were also good friends and seemed to work well with each other. Holly and Caylee had gotten into a bad situation without even trying to. Fortunately for them, they found help in the form of Jonah and Nolan. Jonah was drawn to Holly and just wanted to take care of her and keep her safe. Their relationship grew from there. There was some drama, angst, and suspense. The chemistry between them was steamy. I liked how the story ended (although it was also worrying) but I wish there was an epilogue. I wanted more to the story because I’m greedy like that. I recommend reading this book

When Holly and her friend Caylee escape from being held captive they land in Jonah and Nolan’s car and this brings out some protective daddies that want to keep their littles safe from harm. I love how not only is Jonah is caring and protective of Holly but she is the same for him as well so it drew me to their relationship.

Fun and steamy read

This was the first book of the series I've read and I really enjoyed it. This was a high stakes story with danger, suspense and action to go with the steamy romance. I also liked the idea that the DDLG community was supportive and accepting. Holly needed all the breaks she could have and Jonah was perfectly protective and loving. Great combo ;D It was a fast read but it hit everything right for me. I can't wait to dive into the next book to see how things continue to unfold for this overarching plot.

It turns out that Jonah is a daddy and recognizes Holly as a little along with their friends. The women are taken care of and protected. Cute short story.

Best friends Holly and Caylee are in a desperate place. They’ve escaped their brutal captors and are hiding under a dumpster when they see an SUV pull up. They watch as two large men get out and disappear into the back door of a building. Expecting to be discovered any minute if they remain under the dumpster, the terrified women decide to hide in the back of the SUV, not knowing if they’ve merely traded one danger for another.
Fortunately for the women, Jonah and Nolan turn out to be strong and caring. Not only do the men offer food and shelter, they also go to work erecting a protective shield around Holly and Caylee until the villains can be captured. But one of the bad guys is hiding in plain sight, endangering the love that both women have found. Wonderful tale in Lila’s excellent series.

I really like this author. Excellent job. I like this one too. It was beautiful and alluring. The start was charming and very interesting. I like that the Daddies in this series are all the way Daddies and littles are being littles with adoration you can't deny and innocent without being brat. Good job

Caylee and Holly were wonderful friends. They were so close that they were practically sisters. Nolan and Jonah were also good friends and seemed to work well with each other. Holly and Caylee had gotten into a bad situation without even trying to. Fortunately for them, they found help in the form of Jonah and Nolan. Jonah was drawn to Holly and just wanted to take care of her and keep her safe. Their relationship grew from there. There was some drama, angst, and suspense. The chemistry between them was steamy. I liked how the story ended (although it was also worrying) but I wish there was an epilogue. I wanted more to the story because I’m greedy like that. But one of the bad guys is hiding in plain sight, endangering the love that both women have found. Wonderful tale in Lila’s excellent series.
