The Billionaire's Bodyguard, 1

Billionaire Alex Roman needs a bodyguard. His best friend, Jesse Emerson, an ex-Security Forces Specialist, needs a job. What could possibly go wrong?

Jesse thinks protecting Alex will be a piece of cake. He’ll get to spend quality time with his oldest friend while avoiding his ex-girlfriend. Of course, nothing ever goes as planned. Why would Alex introduce him to everyone as his lover? And why didn’t Alex tell him about the threatening notes he’s been receiving for months?

Alex has been in love with Jesse for years, not that he’d ever admit it to his best friend, but he’s not above making a practical joke out of it. Telling everyone that Jesse is his boyfriend will go a long way toward relieving the stress of the threats he’s been plagued with recently. Unfortunately, when someone tries to shoot him at a charity gala, he discovers that maybe he needs Jesse’s skills more than he realized...

…because sometimes a billionaire’s best friend is the fake boyfriend who’s really his bodyguard.

Excerpt:

“You are not going to talk to the police again,” Jesse said firmly. “You’re going to let your lawyers deal with them.”

“Not a problem.” Alex laughed shortly and tipped his head back against the back of the seat. The limo slowly weaved between traffic, much later than he’d wanted to be getting home. The lights of the other cars flashed against his eyes, making him feel like he was stuck in an endless film noir. Across from him, Jesse checked his weapons, again, settling his underarm holster more firmly against his side. “I gave them a statement. That’s enough,” Alex murmured tiredly.

“That detective was such a dick.” Jesse rubbed his eyes. “What the hell was his problem?”

“He thought we were lovers.”

“That does not make me any less angry, Alex,” Jesse said, glaring out the window.

Alex shook his head. “You know how people are. I’m wealthy. He thinks that makes me a jerk. And he doesn’t like the idea that maybe I like taking it up the ass.” He rolled his shoulders, trying to ease the tension that had taken up residence in his spine. “It doesn’t matter. The police won’t find anything, anyway.”

“Jesus.” Jesse sighed and slumped down in the leather seat. “What the hell is going on, Alex? Those notes aren’t as innocuous as they seem.”

Alex watched Jesse, knowing he was right. He nudged Jesse’s foot with his toe. “Hey. You did all you could. You saved my life. Thank you.”

Jesse gave him a look.

“Don’t do that.” Alex leaned forward. “I would be dead if you hadn’t been there.”

Jesse clenched his fists. “Yeah. That’s why I’m so fucking upset, Alex. What if I hadn’t been there? It’s pure luck that I showed up at your door.” He shook his head. “I’m not leaving your side until this is resolved.”

Alex couldn’t control the tiny surge of joy that welled up inside him. “Um, that might get a bit awkward. Especially when I have to use the toilet.”

Jesse glared at him. “Someone’s trying to kill you and you’re making jokes.”

“What else can I do right now?” Alex asked, reasonably.

Jesse’s face tightened. “Shut up. Please, just… Be quiet for a minute, Alex.”

Alex watched his friend for a long moment. He knew Jesse better than anyone else in his life, and his friend was not happy right now. “I’m okay, Jesse. I’m alive.”

“Yeah.”

Alex pursed his lips, then he slid to his knees on the floor. He put a hand on Jesse’s right knee.

“What the hell are you doing?” Jesse asked, going rigid.

“What I should have done years ago,” Alex murmured, sliding his fingers up to his friend’s crotch. Jesse’s cock was hard.

“Fuck!” The word exploded out of Jesse as Alex cupped his erection.

“Relax. I’m not going to hurt you,” Alex murmured, running a finger along the firm length.

Jesse gave a strangled groan. “This is crazy.”

Alex looked up at him, hand going still. “That kiss was crazy.”

Jesse didn’t look away. “I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing. I don’t know what the fuck you’re doing.”

Alex liked the way his friend didn’t deny what had happened. “I know. I don’t either,” he finally whispered, leaning closer. He put his cheek on Jesse’s thigh. It was warm and hard and shook just the tiniest bit. He wanted to bite it.

“Alex, I’m not gay. I’m not even bi,” Jesse ground out.

Alex had to laugh at that one. “Aren’t you?” He leaned back, then deliberately cupped Jesse’s prick, holding his friend’s gaze the entire time. Jesse’s blue eyes were dilated. “Then why are you so hard?”

Jesse swallowed. “I don’t know.”

Alex deliberately undid the button of Jesse’s pants, then slid the zipper down. Jesse’s cock pushed against his boxer-briefs, hot and sure. “Tell me to stop, and I will.”

Jesse’s entire body shuddered. “God, Alex…” he trailed off when Alex leaned closer and put his mouth over the head of his dick, breathing through the cotton. “Fuck!”

Alex grinned against the fabric, enjoying the musky scent of his friend. He rubbed his face against the hard length, then slowly peeled the fabric down until Jesse’s prick was exposed. As he stared at the deep ruby crown, moisture slid from the tiny slit. He licked his lips. Jesse’s thighs were iron-hard beneath his forearms.

“Do it,” Jesse said roughly. “Put me in your mouth.”

Alex glanced up. Jesse’s eyes glittered in the low light of the car. When the car drove over a pothole, Jesse’s erection bumped his chin.

“Jesus, Alex,” Jesse muttered, head going back as his eyes closed.

Alex couldn’t resist any longer. He didn’t want to resist. He leaned in and sucked the tip between his lips, playing his tongue across the smooth skin. Jesse moaned and Alex slid his hand around the hard length, holding it steady. He put his other hand on his own erection, pressing hard enough to hurt. He didn’t want to come in his pants like a teenager, but the sight of Jesse so messed up had him closer to orgasm than he’d realized. Jesse moaned again and Alex swirled his tongue faster, then sank down, opening wide. He stopped and sucked, then lightly scraped his teeth over the sensitive skin. He wanted to blow Jesse’s mind.

Loved This Book!!
Written by Kenna Nauenburg on 11th May 2015

Holy hell! If you read the excerpt on this page, you'll see how HOT Alex and Jesse are together. They are the perfect mixture of best friends, lovers, and partners in every other parts of their daily lives. When I started reading their story, I was instantly caught up. I started rooting for them in the first chapter, and that went on until I read the words, "The End". I fell in love with them, and felt personally invested in them. Along with the love story (and smoking, nuclear sex), there is action and mystery. That's important to me because sex can only take a book so far before I lose interest. With "The Billionaire's Bodyguard" I never thought about skimming pages or setting the Kindle down. It's just. That. Good. Please read this book.

This was a fast paced friends to lover’s story. Erin M Leaf is new to me and I have to say I would read another story from her in the future. This story was really good. It was engaging, I truly cared about the characters, and the writing flowed effortlessly. Alex Roman is a billionaire business man. He’s taken his grandfathers company and has grown it beyond anything he could have imagined. But with incredible wealth comes incredible problems. Alex has been getting death threats that have been escalating for some time. Alex’s solution is to ignore the threats and hopefully they will go away. Jesse Emerson is Alex’s best friend from when they were kids. They’ve known each other most of their lives and know all there is to know about one another. Jesse is prior military and was in Special Forces. So, when he comes to stay with Alex and learns about the threats he takes it all very seriously and proclaims himself Alex’s personal bodyguard. What I really loved about Alex and Jesse was the effortless comfort they had with each other. You could also feel the attraction just under the surface. Alex is bisexual but John claims to be straight. You know right away Alex has significant feelings and its obvious Jesse feels the same but he’s always seen himself as a straight man. Once Alex throws caution to the wind and takes what he’s always wanted from Jesse, it’s so perfect and feels right. They are so incredibly hot together. For Jesse having never been with a man before he embraces gay sex 110%. Unfortunately while they’re trying to navigate their new found relationship there are forces still out to destroy Alex and the empire he’s built. Not to give too much away I liked the twist and the mystery. It kept me interested and I wanted to see where it was all going to end up. I’d be interested to read more about these two. I’d love to see them more settled. Overall, great book and I’d definitely recommend.

Alex Roman is a billionaire who is great with money. He grew up with money and but also was down to earth. Jesse Emerson was Alex’s Grandfather’s butler’s son. He grew up with Alex. When Alex’s Grandfather and Jesse’s father die it sends each man into a tailspin. Alex had to deal with the estate and his Grandfather’s company where Jesse joined the Air Force. However now Alex needs a bodyguard and now Jesse is back. Alex is going to push for Jesse to recognize his. The connection between Jesse and Alex is intense. I loved that Jesse and Alex have a great friendship that goes beyond what most people have. They are close and care for each other. It’s also apparent that if a relationship does not work out between them they will still have a friendship. The sex scenes were blistering. I found this book well written with a unique plot. I loved the balance of suspense and romance. The main characters and the secondary characters were interesting. The ending of the book was a bit predictable but there is enough twists and turns that keep the reader on their toes all the way through. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.

MM Good Book Reviews

What can one truly say about an amazing story that will draw you in when you first start reading it and can’t put it down? It had the perfect tone to the story. It was told with seriousness, but had the perfect amount of humor in it. The characters were beautifully written and made me want to be right there with them through it all. The author has given me a story that will stand with me for all time. You can tell that when it was written that Erin put her heart into the story. It was so hot that I know I will have amazing dreams tonight. I love the way you can feel the heat from these two men. You can also feel the love that has built from the beginning between them and that it continues to heat up. Alex has been in love with Jesse for more years than he can remember and he knows that Jesse loves him right back. After a night of holding hands, Jesse ran and joined the military. Alex was left with all the things from his grandfather’s death to deal with. One would think Alex should be angry with Jesse, but he knew his friend was not ready. So after a long time Jesse is out of the military and has finally dumped his last girlfriend. Standing on the porch he knows he has to stay at Alex’s to recuperate from his disaster of a relationship. Alex has a secret though. He has been receiving death threats. Now he has the perfect bodyguard, a bodyguard that has to pretend to be his lover. Jesse knew he had thought of Alex as more than a friend but never did anything about it. Until the night of the gala, where he kisses Alex in front of the photographer. Now he wonders why he never made a move before. It turned him on so fast, faster than anyone else had ever been able to. Now he just had to keep his man safe from the threats coming for him. I am definitely going to be checking out the rest of Erin’s books, well the ones with two very sexy men in them. This story gave me everything I could possibly want in a story. It gave me two very sexy men, dangerous situations, suspense, the first kiss between best friends, excitement, betrayal, and love awakening. It gave me that and so much more. I loved it and cannot wait to read more. I want to learn more about Jesse and Alex. Normally when I say a story left me wanting more it is because they were missing something at the end but this story didn’t do that. It had the perfect ending but I want more stories like this one. I would recommend reading this book. It will give you everything you could possibly want in a story. It will have you on the edge of your seat, gulping for breath, wanting to run your fingers over them both and have you praying for that type of love. A love built so strong that you will fall in love even more.

Hearts On Fire

: I must have a subconscious (or really conscious!) desire to be a billionaire because I have been drawn to the Billionaire type stories! In this one, I liked the billionaire, Alex, just as much as I liked his ex-Special Forces best friend turned bodyguard, Jesse. They are both laid back, snarky with each other and seem like decent guys. Jesse and Alex have been best friends since childhood. Jesse’s father was Alex’s grandfather’s butler and despite the status gap, the two were inseparable. With the death of father and grandfather, Jesse joined the military and Alex took over the helm of the family’s financial company. Jesse is the one person Alex trusts without question, and vice versa. Jesse is home now, only to break up with his girlfriend. He, of course, crashes with Alex and finds out (through the awesome lady butler, Julia, that Alex has been receiving threatening messages. Oh no, that’s not happening! So, Jesse appoints himself Alex’s bodyguard until they figure it out. This is when the not-acknowledged part of the relationship is drawn forth. As Alex introduces Jesse as his boyfriend, the “I’m not gay” Jesse is in turmoil. I appreciated that even though these guys have been partners in every way but sex, it took a bit for Jesse to realize it. Not so much a bi for you as much as an “I want Alex”. Bonus points for the fact that first time sex hurt! Real world, even for billionaires and bodyguards! The mystery aspect, I did figure out pretty quick, but I found this enjoyable with two interesting main characters.

This is my first time reading author Erin M. Leaf and it will not be my last, The Billionaire’s Bodyguard had me from page one. Ms. Leaf does a great job of bringing two best friends together and making me fall in love with their story. Alex is the rich humble man who is openly bisexual. He has a best friend Jesse. Jesse is straight or so he thinks. Jesse comes to Alex when a girlfriend will not leave his apartment. Alex opens his home to his best friend. When someone threatens Alex’s life Jesse will do anything to save him. Even pretend to be his lover. What starts out as a cover soon becomes reality. I loved the connection these characters have. The friendship transforming to more really was believable. The cliché part of the straight friend finding out he is gay made me do that groan oh no thing, but Ms. Leaf really recovered from that with beautiful writing that kept me turning the pages. When you want a beautiful love story between two unforgettable friends this is the book to pick up. Five Shooting Stars !!

What an AWESOME READ!! This little gem was so worth the price. These two MCs shared great chemistry and were BRILLIANTLY scripted. I thoroughly enjoyed their backstory and couldn't wait for their HEA. The blurb set up their love story very well. Hannah was a gusty and cleverly crafted secondary character. Love, love, love this book. I will most definitely check out more works from this author. Have at this book, you too will enjoy the ride. My one complaint, too short......... Alex and Jesse has been friends for ever. They grew up together since Jesse's father had been butler for Alex' grandfather. The two older men died together in a car crash few years back, something that has been deemed an accident by the police, while the younger men could not believe it. That question is never answered in this story. Shortly after his father died, Jesse joined the army, while Alex took over the Roman Empire as the company is called. Jesse and Alex know each other better than the most. They had shared the most, even getting the similar ink. Still, there is a secret Alex has carried for a long time, a secret he more than anything wants to disclose for his best friend. He thinks the time is right. Jesse is horrified that Alex has been threatened for a while, seemingly not taking this seriously enough. Alex has actually done all he could, but the police had not achieved anything in this case. Jesse decides that Alex needs a bodyguard and Alex is delighted to keep his best friend close. He aims to get him even closer. The plot is believable. Until the end, that is. Because I cannot see how it was supposed to go without killing at least two people and all that for mere 50 grand? And even if the villain had thought he could get rid of his accomplices, the profit would be ridiculously low. The expenses the villain must have had to get to that point, were probably almost as high.
